Daily Summaries
Tuesday – 02/24/2026
On this day, I continued refining my presentation for the UHC Core Operations team by reviewing the specific stakeholders who will be present and tailoring my content to address financial, operational, and clinical perspectives. I further developed my personal presentation script to improve clarity, transitions, and confidence in delivery.
I then conducted a mock presentation for coworkers within the dental clinic to simulate the stakeholder meeting and gather constructive feedback. Their input helped me identify areas that needed clearer explanation and simplified language. Based on this feedback, I revised several slides and added a clarification slide distinguishing the UnitedHealthcare Student Health Insurance Plan from the UHC Health Fee, as these are often confused by students. I also created and edited a mock Direct Primary Care Agreement contract to demonstrate how the DSP would remain compliant with Georgia Senate Bill 18 as a non-insurance agreement.
Thursday – 02/26/2026
On this day, I reviewed the mock Direct Primary Care Agreement contract with my supervisor to ensure clarity, compliance, and alignment with clinic operations. We carefully adjusted wording to make the document more patient-friendly while maintaining legal accuracy. I then updated my slides to reflect these revisions and strengthened my explanation of the DCPA requirements so stakeholders can clearly understand the legal structure of the DSP.
I concluded the day by conducting a detailed final review of the entire presentation, correcting grammatical errors, refining wording, and improving overall flow to ensure the presentation is polished and ready for delivery to the UHC Board.
Summary of Week 7 with Competencies
- 7.1 Coordinate relationships with partners and stakeholders
- 7.1.3 Involve partners and stakeholders throughout the process
- 7.1.4 Maintain ongoing engagement with stakeholders
- This week I focused on prioritizing stakeholder engagement and collaborative feedback to refine the Dental Savings Plan proposal. By conducting a mock presentation for dental clinic staff, I involved internal stakeholders of the clinic in the presentation finalizing process. Their feedback allowed me to clarify complex sections, simplify dental language, and better tailor the presentation to the variety of members in the Core Operations audience. I also worked with my supervisor to review and revise a Direct Primary Care Agreement contract. This ensured that the DSP aligns not only with financial and clinical goals, but also with legal and operational standards required for implementation. Maintaining open communication and incorporating feedback strengthened both the credibility and feasibility of the proposal to ensure that the DSP presentation addresses financial sustainability, enhances administrative workflow, and prioritizes patient accessibility.
Week 7 Summaries
During my seventh week with the UGA UHC Dental Clinic, I focused on final preparation and refinement of the Dental Savings Plan presentation in preparation of presenting to the UHC Core Operations team. Rather than collecting new data, this week emphasized stakeholder engagement, clarity of communication, and legal compliance. By conducting a mock presentation within the dental clinic, I was able to gather constructive feedback that strengthened the organization and clarity of my slides. This allowed me to refine how I explain the financial model, the access gap in preventive dental care, and the operational integration of the DSP into Point-and-Click and Eaglesoft. I also added a clarifying slide addressing common confusion between the UHC Health Fee and UnitedHealthcare Student Health Insurance to proactively answer potential stakeholder questions.
I also spent this week finalizing the mock Direct Primary Care Agreement contract to be added to the legal considerations slides of the presentation. By reviewing Georgia Senate Bill 18 in detail and working closely with my supervisor, I ensured that the DSP is clearly structured as a non-insurance membership agreement and compliant with state requirements. I revised the contract language to be both legally accurate and patient-friendly, reinforcing the practicality of real-world implementation.
Overall, Week 7 highlighted the transition from planning to finalization of the DSP proposal and presentation. By refining presentation materials, strengthening stakeholder communication, and confirming legal compliance, I ensured that the Dental Savings Plan proposal is both professionally presented and operationally sustainable for the UGA University Health Center Dental Clinic.
